Due to continued growth of our Family Team we are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Family Law Solicitors/Chartered Legal Executives for our Longton and Havant/Southampton offices.

Experience: 

  • 3+ years PQE or relevant pre-qualification experience
  • Knowledge/experience of Legal Aid processes preferable
  • Family Law Panel member Accreditation or eligibility to join a scheme desirable
  • Supervisory experience desirable
  • Knowledge of care proceedings is an advantage but not essential

 Job Information:

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct and manage a wide range of family files, both Legal Aid and privately funded matters through to conclusion in areas such as, but not limited to:

  • Divorce
  • Negotiating Financial Settlements
  • Arrangements for Children
  • Pre and post-nuptial agreements
  • Cohabitation
  • Emergency applications, variations, and enforcements

Experience and Attributes

The successful individual is likely to have:

  • Gained some experience in a family law team;
  • A law degree or CILEx qualification
  • The ability to work unsupervised (after training),
  • Good self-motivational skills, and;
  • Be reliable
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft applications.

Due to recent expansion, we are seeking a motivated and dynamic Childcare Lawyer to join our team in Stoke on Trent (Longton Office) 

Experience: 

  • Proven track record of fee earning and case management 
  • 3 years + PQE in Childcare Law desirable

Applications are invited from individuals who have confidence, drive and a sense of responsibility to provide admin assistance to our Family and Childcare teams in Longton but with the ability to work at times in our Newcastle-under-Lyme office.

We are a busy multi-disciplinary law practice that carries out a mixture of Legal Aid and private work between the hours of 9 am and 5.30 pm Monday to Friday.

The roles require individuals who can:

  • Provide support to our Lawyers to enable them to operate at optimum efficiency

The duties of the role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Filing/Scanning/photocopying
  • Relief Reception duties including handling of post
  • Assisting in the preparation of Court Bundles
  • Assisting in archiving of files
  • Word processing
  • Dealing with clients and other parties via telephone

The successful candidates will have: 

  • Good communication skills essential
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative
  • Proven organisational ability
  • Previous office based experience and working knowledge of Microsoft office an advantage but is not essential
