If you are representing yourself in family proceedings, you may want some legal advice about certain issues. We offer a ‘pay as you go’ service which enables you to continue dealing with your matter and to obtain advice on the law and process as and when you need it.

How it works:

Traditionally, legal advice involves a solicitor acting for you and charging a fee for every action taken on your case whether writing a letter, receiving a phone call or preparing a document.

Our Pay As You Go scheme enables you to take control of your costs by paying for advice when needed or for us to take specific steps to assist you with your case.

You will be charged for the work undertaken and you will receive an invoice which will provide details of the work carried out. You will need to make payments on the day.

You will be representing yourself and will therefore be the first point of contact and the one in control of your case. You will do all the paperwork and administration which will keep your overall legal costs down.

What we will do:

We will meet with you when needed to discuss your case and provide advice to guide you through the process.

We will give clear advice to help you with the detail and strategy required to pursue your case. Each meeting will help you take the next steps to progress your case yourself.

We will keep a note of all our meetings with you and record what was discussed.

If at any time you feel you need our Family Team to take control of your matter then you can transfer to our full representation service at any time.
