Personal Injury F&Qs

What is a personal injury claim?

A personal injury claim is the legal term for a claim made when someone has suffered pain to the body, mind or their emotions apposed to someone who has suffered injury to a property.

Do I have a personal injury claim?

If you have suffered physical or emotional pain you could be entitled to make a claim. Get in touch with us and we will talk you through whether you have grounds to pursue compensation.

What can I claim for?

In most cases, claims can be broken into 2 categories. The first is the pain or injuries you can obtained and how they have had an affect on your life or could affect it in the future. Generally medical advice is required to prove this.

The second is claiming for past and future financial losses and expenses. This could be loss of earnings for example.

How long does a claim take?

Claims can vary in length depending on their complexity, but generally speaking you’re looking at 1-2 years for your claim to be successful and the time can be impacted greatly if there are disputes around the claim.

Youngs Law will give you an estimate timeline for your case and deal with all matters as quickly as possible to make sure we get your case resolved

How much compensation will I get?

The amount of compensation you will receive will depend on the seriousness of the injuries you have suffered, the impact they have had on you and how they might affect you in the future.

What is no win, no fee?

No win, no fee is exactly what it says. If we don’t win your case, you don’t have to pay us. Regardless of how your case is funded, we will provide you with costs throughout the process.

What is a success fee?

A success fee is the fee you pay upon winning you case. The fee will vary depending on you case but generally it will be a percentage of the compensation you receive. Young Law can guarantee that we never take more than 25% of your compensation.

Do I need a solicitor?

It is entirely up to you if you choose to make a claim with or without legal representation, however we highly recommend it. As experts we can guide you through the process and deal with any legal matters that may arise during your case.
